Keeping track of parallel sessions#
I run three or four Claude Code sessions in parallel most days. Keeping up inside each one was fine. What I kept losing track of was which session needed me right now, and which one had finished ten minutes ago while I wasn't looking.
Claude Deck is a native plugin (com.adenmann.deck) for a 15-key Elgato Stream Deck that turns each key into a live status light for one session: running, waiting for you or done.
How it works#
Claude Code already writes a .jsonl transcript for every session, and Claude Deck reads that transcript to drive each key's state. It doesn't poll windows or scrape title bars. It tails the file Claude Code already produces.
Two things had to hold before this was viable, and neither was guaranteed going in:
- Desktop-app Claude Code sessions fire the same hooks and write the same readable transcripts as CLI sessions.
- A
claude://code/new?prompt=...deep link prefills and sends a prompt in one step, so a single key press can launch a fully formed new session rather than a blank one.
Once both checked out, I built the plugin natively instead of wrapping something fragile, and let the transcripts drive the lights.
It's a small tool for a problem I ran into most days. It's built on the Elgato Stream Deck SDK as a native plugin and parses Claude Code's .jsonl transcripts.
